This blog accompanies the Digital Storytelling core curriculum class (DMST 5236) in the Digital Media Studies Graduate Program at the University of Houston Clear Lake. It is intended to be a teaching tool, a platform to showcase productions created in this class and a communication tool for students in this class.

Syllabus: digital-storytelling-spring-19

The Professor: Michael Brims, MFA

I teach video production and related subjects at UHCL, both on the graduate and the undergraduate level. I hold an M.F.A. in photography and digital media and a B.A. in broadcast journalism and TV production, both from the University of Houston. I also have the equivalent of an M.A. from the Ludwigs Maximilians Universtaet in Munich in linguistics and literature.

I have worked in many areas of TV and video production and I am an exhibiting video artist and award-wining documentary filmmaker. My work has been widely screened nationally and internationally.
